Does any of this sound familiar?
These are the situations Songbird was built to remove.
Your CRM doesn't match your sales process
Fixed stages, fixed fields and fixed statuses force your team to work the way the software was built, not the way you sell.
Leads and customers live in separate systems
A prospect gets re-typed as a company, a contact and a deal, and the history behind it is lost each time.
Everyone can see everything — or nothing
Without teams, ownership and record-level access, visibility is all-or-nothing.
Context leaves with the salesperson
Calls, emails and commitments sit in personal inboxes instead of a shared timeline.
Forecasts are opinions
Without configurable pipelines and stage reporting, the number changes depending on who you ask.
How Songbird fixes it.
Three steps. No implementation project required.
- 1
Configure Songbird around your business
Set your pipelines, stages, fields, layouts, statuses, lead sources, lost reasons, contact roles, teams and roles.
- 2
Work leads through to customers
Capture leads, convert them into companies, contacts and opportunities, and log every call, email, meeting, task and note as you go.
- 3
Report on what actually happens
Pipeline value, opportunities by stage, win/loss, lead sources, activity and forecasting — from real records, not a spreadsheet.
What you get out of it.
Five things a business owner cares about, and what each one looks like in practice.
No process re-engineering
Configure the CRM instead of retraining your sales team around someone else's workflow.
Fewer deals lost to silence
Activities, tasks and stage reporting surface opportunities that have gone quiet while they can still be recovered.
Account knowledge stays with you
History follows the relationship when a lead becomes a company, contact and opportunity.
Everything connected and clickable
Move from lead to company to contact to opportunity to activity without losing where you were.
Access controlled properly
Ownership, team visibility and role-based permissions decide who can view, create, edit and delete.
Everything connected.
A lead can become a company, contact and opportunity without losing its history. Every related record is connected and clickable, so you can move naturally through the customer relationship.
Songbird models the relationship, not a list of rows. Open an opportunity and you can click straight through to the company, the people who influence the deal, the cases they have raised and every call, email and meeting behind it.
Because the records are linked rather than copied, the history behind a relationship stays intact when a lead is qualified and converted — you never lose the story of where a customer came from.
That is what makes Songbird a customer relationship system rather than a contact database: the connections carry the context.
The whole customer relationship, in one place.
Leads
Capture and qualify prospects whether they start as a person, a company, or an individual associated with a company.
Companies
Maintain a complete organisational record including contacts, opportunities, cases and activity history.
Contacts
Keep people connected to the companies and opportunities they actually influence.
Opportunities
Manage deals through configurable pipelines, stages, values, forecasts and contact roles.
Activities
Keep calls, emails, meetings, tasks and notes in one shared activity timeline.
Cases
Track customer issues and support activity alongside the wider customer relationship.
Your CRM. Your rules.
Songbird is configured per organisation — pipelines, fields, layouts and rules change to match your business without changing the underlying CRM architecture.
Configuration limits scale with your plan: 5 custom fields per entity and one pipeline on Starter, 50 custom fields per entity and five pipelines on Pro, unlimited on Enterprise. Automation is basic on Pro and advanced on Enterprise.
Give people access to what they need.
Ownership, visibility, permissions, teams and roles are separate ideas in Songbird — so you can share a record without handing over the whole database.
Every record has an owner. Ownership drives accountability and 'my records' views.
Team-based visibility decides which records a person can see, including selected-team access on individual records.
Role-based permissions control who can view, create, edit and delete each type of record.
Group people by region, product or segment, then grant a record to selected teams for collaboration.
Basic roles on Starter, full roles on Pro, advanced roles with field-level permissions and manager hierarchies on Enterprise.
- Owner:
- Sarah
- Teams:
- UK Sales, Enterprise
Sarah owns the opportunity, so it appears in her pipeline. Her two teams can collaborate on it. Everyone else sees it only if an administrator's role permissions allow it. Changes are recorded in audit history. Field-level permissions and manager hierarchies are Enterprise features.
Build pipelines around your sales process.
Stages are yours to define. Rename them, reorder them, add your own, and set the lost reasons your team actually uses.
- New
- Qualified
- Discovery
- Proposal
- Negotiation
- Won / Lost
Inbound and outbound prospects working through to a first order.
Longer cycles with more stages, more stakeholders and contact roles.
Existing customers with their own stages and lost reasons.
Upsell and cross-sell opportunities against current accounts.
One pipeline on Starter, five on Pro. Enterprise customers get unlimited pipelines and advanced forecasting.
Nothing gets lost between conversations.
Activity history follows the customer relationship, so it stays accessible when a lead becomes a company, contact or opportunity.
- Email sent19 Aug
- Call completed18 Aug
- Meeting held17 Aug
- Opportunity created15 Aug
- Lead converted12 Aug
Calls, emails, meetings, tasks and notes are all activities against the relationship. One shared timeline means the next person to pick up the account can see exactly what has already been said.
Because activities are linked to the company, contact and opportunity rather than to a single record, converting a lead does not reset the history.
Turn prospects into relationships, not spreadsheets.
Start with whatever you know. A company name, an individual, a phone number or a website is enough to create a lead. When the prospect is qualified, convert it into the appropriate company, contact and opportunity records without losing the history behind it.
- Person or company leads
- Existing company matching
- Contact creation
- Opportunity creation
- Duplicate detection
- Preserved activity history
Know what's actually happening.
Reporting is basic on Starter and advanced on Pro and Enterprise, with advanced forecasting on Enterprise.

Why Songbird exists.
Most CRM software makes you sell the way it was designed. Stages, fields, statuses and permissions are fixed, so teams end up working around the software: notes in the wrong place, a spreadsheet on the side, and a pipeline nobody fully trusts.
The other failure mode is fragmentation. A prospect is typed into one place as a lead, re-typed as a company, again as a contact and again as a deal — and each re-type loses the history that explains where the relationship came from.
Songbird takes the familiar shape of a traditional CRM — leads, companies, contacts, opportunities, activities and cases — and makes it configurable per organisation, so the CRM matches your sales motion instead of the other way round.
What it costs to leave this unsolved.
Qualitative framing based on what operations teams routinely tell us — not a promise of specific savings.
Follow-ups depend on someone remembering. When they don't, the lead lapses.
Without configurable stages and stage reporting, nobody can answer 'what is actually going to close?' with confidence.
When someone leaves, their contacts, notes and activity history usually leave with them.
What Songbird does about it.
Songbird models the full customer relationship: a Lead can be a person or a company, and when it qualifies it converts into the right Company, Contact and Opportunity records — carrying its activity history with it.
Every related record is connected and clickable, so you can move from an opportunity to the company, to the people who influence it, to the calls, emails and meetings behind it, without leaving the relationship.
Administrators configure the CRM per organisation — pipelines, stages, custom fields, layouts, statuses, lead sources, lost reasons, contact roles, saved views, assignment rules and workflow automation — without changing the underlying CRM architecture.
Every capability, grouped by workflow.

Ownership, team visibility and role-based permissions decide who can view, create, edit and delete.
From first enquiry to won opportunity
- 1
Capture the lead
A company name, an individual, a phone number or a website is enough to create a Lead, tagged with its source.
- 2
Qualify it
Log calls, emails and meetings against the lead while you work out whether it is real.
- 3
Convert it
Create or match the Company, create the Contact and open the Opportunity — with duplicate detection and preserved history.
- 4
Work the pipeline
Move the opportunity through your own stages, with values, expected close dates, owners and contact roles.
- 5
Close and support
Record won or lost with your own lost reasons, then keep serving the customer through Cases and activities.
Practical outcomes teams report.
- The CRM matches your sales process instead of your team working around the software.
- Lead history survives conversion into companies, contacts and opportunities.
- Managers get pipeline, win/loss and lead-source reporting from real records.
- Knowledge stays inside the business when people move on.
Common use cases.
Two to twenty people selling who need structure without a CRM implementation project.
Where relationships matter more than transactional volume.
New business, enterprise, renewals and expansion each running on their own pipeline.
Fits your stack.
Identity, users, organisations, roles and entitlement are managed centrally in the Admin Centre.
Subscriptions are billed through the platform, and Songbird launches from Command Core alongside your other apps.
API access on Pro and above; webhooks on Enterprise. Email integrations are available where configured for your workspace.
How your data is protected.
Per-organisation data isolation enforced in the database, with record ownership and team-based visibility on top.
Role-based permissions control view, create, edit and delete. Field-level permissions and manager hierarchies are Enterprise features.
Audit history records changes to records so you can see what changed and when.
Hosted in the UK, ICO registered, encrypted at rest and in transit.
Is Songbird the right fit?
- Who it's for
- Growing B2B sales and account teams that need a CRM shaped around their process
- Typical user
- Salesperson daily, sales manager weekly
- Typical size
- 2 to 100 people selling
- Time to get running
- Same day on Starter; a day or two to configure pipelines and fields
- What people use instead
- Spreadsheets, inbox folders, large CRM platforms with an implementation project attached
- Why Songbird
- Fast enough that reps actually update it, and it shares identity and reporting with the rest of your Nightingale apps.
We'd rather show you real ones.
Songbird is a young product and we won't publish quotes we haven't earned. Customer stories will appear here as early customers agree to be named — with their own words and their own numbers, not ours. Until then, the free tier is the honest way to judge it: run it on real work for a fortnight and see what changes.
Happy to be an early reference customer? Tell us on the contact form and we'll talk about what that looks like.
Songbird questions, answered.
Everything you need to know about Starter, scaling up, and optional onboarding.
What's included in the free Starter tier?+
Starter is free forever for 2 users, with 500 leads, 500 companies, 1,000 contacts, 100 opportunities and one pipeline. It includes leads, companies, contacts, opportunities, activities and cases, 5 custom fields per entity, and basic teams, roles, record security and reporting.
How does Pro pricing work?+
Pro is £29 per user, per month, billed in GBP. It gives you unlimited users, leads, companies, contacts and opportunities, five pipelines, 50 custom fields per entity, teams, roles and record-level security, basic automation, advanced reporting and API access. Enterprise is from £69 per user, per month and adds unlimited pipelines and custom fields, advanced automation, field-level permissions, manager hierarchies, webhooks and SSO.
Can I configure Songbird around our sales process?+
Yes — that is the point of Songbird. Administrators configure custom fields, layouts, statuses, lead sources, pipelines, opportunity stages, lost reasons, contact roles, saved views, assignment rules and workflow automation per organisation, without changing the underlying CRM. Configuration limits scale with your plan.
What happens to a lead's history when it converts?+
It is preserved. A lead can be a person or a company; when it qualifies you convert it into the appropriate company, contact and opportunity records, with existing-company matching and duplicate detection. The activity history follows the relationship rather than being left behind.
How do teams and permissions work?+
Ownership, visibility and permissions are separate. Every record has an owner, team-based visibility controls which records people see (including granting a single record to selected teams), and role-based permissions control who can view, create, edit and delete. Field-level permissions and manager hierarchies are Enterprise features, and audit history records changes.
What is GaleAI?+
GaleAI is an AI assistant that reads your CRM in plain English ("show me deals closing this month over £10k"). Crucially it only sees what the asking user can see — every query runs through the same row-level security as the app, so nobody accidentally leaks another team's or another tenant's data.
Is my data isolated from other Songbird tenants?+
Yes. Every table is protected by row-level security at the database layer. Two companies can run on Songbird side by side and neither workspace can read a byte of the other's data.
How is Songbird different from Salesforce, HubSpot or Pipedrive?+
Songbird keeps the familiar CRM shape — leads, companies, contacts, opportunities, activities and cases — but makes it configurable per organisation without an implementation project. You start free, configure it yourself, and pay per user only when you outgrow the Starter limits.
When do I need Enterprise?+
Enterprise suits larger teams that need unlimited pipelines and custom fields, advanced automation and forecasting, field-level permissions, manager hierarchies, webhooks and SSO, plus a signed SLA & DPA and a dedicated success manager.
Is there an onboarding fee?+
No fee on Starter or Pro — you can self-serve in minutes. Larger rollouts can opt into an implementation package for CRM migration, custom pipelines and team training.
