# [Company] Attendance Policy

_Last updated: [date]_

## 1. What we expect
You are at your contracted start time, ready to work, on every scheduled day. If you can't be, we expect early notice via the channel below.

## 2. Reporting absence
Notify your manager by [time] on the day, by [phone/Slack/system]. Voicemail and email do not count as notice. If you can't reach your manager, contact [HR].

## 3. Recording time
Clock in/out via [system] at the start and end of every shift. Manual adjustments require sign-off from your line manager the same day.

## 4. Triggers and conversations
After [3] absences in a [12-week] rolling period, your manager will have a structured conversation with you to understand context and agree any support.

After [5] in [12] weeks, this becomes a formal review under the [absence procedure].

These triggers are not automatic disciplinary steps — they ensure the right conversation happens at the right time.

## 5. Long-term absence
Absences over 7 calendar days require a fit note. Welfare check-ins are scheduled with [HR] from week 2.

## 6. Working Time
Hours worked, breaks and overtime are captured in [system]. We comply with the Working Time Regulations 1998 (48-hour average, 11-hour daily rest, 20-minute break after 6 hours).
